Prohibition of Double Jeopardy

There is a penalty for a crime. Prohibition of double jeopardy of a well established criminal law principle. It is also included in the cdriminal code of Ethiopia.Therefore,if aperson is accused of a crime and punished for that crime ,he or she may not be repunished. This principle may be used to raise preliminary objection against a new charge. He or she can say ''I have already been charged and punished for the criminal act cited in this new charge.''
